Cavs-Pistons Game 6 delayed by malfunction
The Eastern Conference finals took a bizarre turn when a shot-clock malfunction created a 21-minute delay between the first and second quarters Saturday night, giving the Cleveland Cavaliers and Detroit Pistons a long and awkward break during Game 6.

Cavs star LeBron James found a comfortable spot to wait it out, sitting on the court with his back resting on a basket support.

After a solution could not be reached with the shot clocks, the officials asked the public-address announcer, Olivier Sedra, to let the players know when there was 10 seconds on the clock and to count down from 5 seconds to 1.

Sedra also frequently announced the score because it was only visible on the videoboards above the court.

The problems were fixed at halftime, with the shot clocks working properly above both baskets along with the scoreboards throughout the arena.

The Cavaliers had a similar problem with their shot clocks at one home game during the regular season.

After sitting and standing early in the delay, both teams used the break to warm up for the second quarter. James, playing the role of a polite host, took two basketballs off the rack and threw them to the Pistons at the other end of the court.
