Japan star completes record J-League switch
|
Japan midfielder Yuki Abe has completed a record move to Urawa Reds, the J-League champions said on Monday. The highly rated 25-year-old joined Urawa from JEF United Chiba for a transfer fee of around $3 million, the highest sum ever paid for a Japanese player in a domestic deal. Abe has scored 36 goals in 214 J-League appearances but missed out on a place in Japan's 2006 World Cup squad. He has since become an integral part of the Japanese squad under current coach Ivica Osim, who used to manage Abe's former team JEF United. |
